The Great Wedding Shoe Search of 2011

Where have I been?  Well... I've been working, cleaning, looking for the perfect wedding shoes, trying to lose weight, working some more, looking for the perfect wedding shoes (again), partying with friends, spending quality time with The Man, enjoying life, picking up my wedding dress, ordering what I thought was my perfect wedding shoes, dropping off my wedding dress for alteration,  ordering Grooms/Ring bearer ties, looking at wedding favors, receiving what I thought was my perfect wedding shoes only to find out they arent, deciding on a menu, and then resuming the Great Wedding Shoe Search of 2011.  Good Times.

This is what I ordered and this is what didn't quite come as expected, nor did they look good.
Here's my dilemma: Strappy sandals can hurt and cause blisters.  Peep toe's don't work with the high arch in my foot (my toes dont quite make it to the peep toe), Slingbacks can cause that flip flop noise, the perfect shoe that I find is $150, the not so perfect, not sure I like it shoe is $60.  The other perfect shoe that I found is in Ivory, not white. I want comfort but I want gorgeous.  I am locked into the 3 1/2 inch heel because its too late to change the alterations and honestly, I'm fine with a 3 1/2 in heel because that is my standard heel height that I wear to work every day.  I want a Mary Jane/Spectator Pump style.  Something fun!  Something classy!  Something that makes my feet look cute and doesnt butcher them, making me take my shoes off as soon as I say I Do.

This is what I've fallen in love with and just can't justify the cost:

I have searched the internets high and low for a less expensive Martinez Valero and I had no luck.  Maybe they weren't meant to be?  But they are so perfect....and while they aren't Mary Janes/Spectators, I would take these in a heart beat... unless I come across my most perfect pair of White Mary Janes with a 3 1/2 in heel.

Im getting whiny and a whiny Mindy is no bueno.  I found the perfect dress!  Now where are my damn perfect shoes (within my budget, of course).  Help!!

I Love A Day Off

In lieu of my birthday, I decided to take today off.  While it would have been ideal to take my actual birthday off, I would've missed out on some fun birthday events AND its no fun taking a day off in the middle of a week.

I started my day off sleeping in with my wonderful husband.  We hardly ever get to do this, so when we have the chance, we take advantage of it!  It was so nice to sleep in and just enjoy waking up slowly.

I did sleep through the Royal Wedding.  Getting up at 4am to watch the much talked about festivities on my only day off just didn't sound enticing.  I did watch it this afternoon and surprisingly, I got a bit choked up.  I wish nothing but the best for Will & Kate.  I do have to add that 3 months from TODAY I will be marrying my husband (again) in an absolutely gorgeous church in Mexico.  So I too get to be a Princess :)  Here is a snapshot or two of the inside of the Church where we will be married in 90 days!

I decided to pamper myself today.  I had scheduled both a nail and a hair appointment.  While I do get my nails done every 4 weeks, I hadnt had my hair cut in over a year!  So I went armed with a picture and my new hairdresser did not disappoint.  I will be going back to her for some color and highlights!!

After my appointments I did a little shopping at Market Street where I bought my lunch and all the fixins for a yummy dinner.  I then planted my butt on the couch to watch the Royal Wedding and enjoy the beautiful weather we are having.  There is such a nice breeze coming in the windows.  I love days like these!!

My veggies/herbs/flowers are growing nicely!!  We did have to repot my tomato plant again.  The strong winds that accompanied the horrible storms we had last week, knocked down my tomato plant and shattered the original pot that we had planted it in.  But it survived!!  Check em out...

A certain Crazy Moco got himself in trouble this morning.  The Man found Moco in the corner of the yard, digging away.  We "fenced" off the corner with wire fence and sprinkled cayenne pepper in the digging area, hoping it would deter him.  Wishful thinking... I found him this afternoon trying to go around the fence.  Come to find out his favorite ball had found its way to the other side of the yard fence.  Moco and I rescued his ball and I had a happy puppy again... until he decided to repeatedly get his ball on the other side of the wire fence and try to dig for it again.  Needless to say, Crazy Moco is in a time out.

Well folks, Im off to make dinner.  Ribs and Macaroni Salad are on the menu tonight!  There may be a glass bottle of wine in my near future too!  Happy Weekend!

My 32nd Birth Day

What an awesome day.  I'll be honest, I was kind of dreading my 32nd birthday.  While my thirties have been great with memories and milestones, it still makes me sad that I am getting older.  But I suppose you are only as old as you feel, right?  And I still feel pretty darn young.

I woke up on April 27th with some awesome Happy Birthday text messages from family and close friends.  I knew then it was going to be a great day.  My coworkers friends made it that much better by greeting me with Happy Birthdays, cupcakes, and a really awesome lunch.  As the Birthday Girl, I got to choose what we had for my birthday lunch.  I chose Babe's Chicken and oh it was SO good... After scarfing down some some of the best southern home cooking, we chatted about Royal wedding events and had Jessica's homemade cupcakes for dessert.  Here is a brief look at the scene of "crime.."

Im pretty sure I was in a food coma at that point!  So while all of this was going on, friends and family left some really awesome birthday love on my facebook page.  Seriously, I cant even begin to show my appreciation for so many birthday wishes!

My work day ended and I traveled home to where I was greeted with a Birthday package from my mom and dad.  Inside the box was a sweet card AND some awesome Butterscotch Oatmeal Cookies.  Mmmm, you can bet I had one (or maybe two).. and now that I think about it, I think I may have one now :)  They are soooo good in all of their sweet, crumbly goodness.  Nothin like Momma's cookies!

I then headed over to my friend Tiffanys home.  Stephan had to work that night so Tiffany and I decided to have a girls night.  She made me an awesome dinner and a most delicious Weight Watcher friendly Angel Food Pineapple cake.  We had such a great evening.  I can't thank her enough for the sweet wine glass (how appropriate) and the stress relieving Lavender Bath stuff she gave me.  Such a sweet friend for spending an evening with me on my special day!  Oh and did I mention how adorable her 9wk old son is?  He is such a handsome baby!!

My birthday evening was topped off with my most handsome husband arriving home with a very special birthday card and a DOZEN Red Roses for me.  He is so thoughtful and the roses are just absolutely beautiful!!

I can't believe just how special my day was because of all the awesome friends and family that I have.  I am so blessed and thank God every day for the blessings that I have in my life.

Cheers to another awesome year of life.  I know this year is going to be even better ;)
